The short version

I’m a Senior UX Researcher at Alaska Airlines. I’ve created several in-house built software for our Maintenance and Engineering division. Creating brand new products from the ground up to doing re-designs, I have helped set the ideation, framework & road-map for products that power the aviation industry.

Continue on dear reader

I completed my Associate of Fine Arts degree at UF, the University of Florida. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Textile Design at SCAD, the Savannah College of Art and Design

My career took off at a young age in the event production world. At age 16 I began working for music and art festivals nationwide. A passion for the arts, project management and creating engaging, memorable human experiences captivated my interest.

In addition to becoming an events professional, I traveled the world in pursuit of art and design opportunities. In New Zealand I worked as a textile designer and colorist for Ashford Handicrafts, the world’s leading manufacturer of textile equipment such as spinning wheels and weaving looms. I won a grant to participate in an Artist Residency in Otranto, Italy where I lived in a castle from the 11th century and made an art installation at the castle. In San Francisco I worked as a textile liaison for Sloan Miyasato, a wholesale interior design showroom. My keen awareness of color, texture and composition influence my approach to design

I returned to school to continue my education in the technology design field. I focused on visual communications and branding. I went on to specialize in User Experience, User Interface and Interaction Design as well as User Experience Research. Additionally, I completed certificate courses on Usability Testing, UX of Gamification: Creating Addictive User Experiences as well as Designing for Augmented and Virtual Reality.

For my thesis I made Women Who Ride. A digital product I conceptualized, researched, designed and created as a mobile app. With a GPS locator to search other motorcyclists profiles, rides, clubs and events, the app connects women, femme and non-binary people to plan rides and explore the hobby of motorcycling together. I’ve been riding a motorcycle since 2012 and have ridden the Alps of Italy, the countryside of Slovenia, the coast of Croatia, the North and South islands of New Zealand and throughout the USA.

I went on to work for Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Meow Wolf is a DIY art collective turned Benefit Corporation that creates  narrative driven immersive and interactive art exhibits and experiences. The company created a position for me as their first UX UI Designer and UX Researcher. I introduced User Experience Research to New Mexico’s fastest growing startup. A highlight in my career there was working on The Navigator, a mixed reality project which won the Augmented World Expo’s Award for Best Art and Film in 2019.

After Meow Wolf, I practiced user-centered design for my clients. An exciting project was working for Nonny De la Peña, who is regarded as one of the most influential pioneers in virtual and augmented reality. She has been called “The Godmother of Virtual Reality” by Engadget and The Guardian.

I’m currently working for Alaska Airlines. I was their 1st in-house designer and researcher to create new products for the Maintenance and Engineering division. I then became the UX lead for M&E division. I am now their Senior UX Researcher, helping pave the way for the companies digital innovation program.

My extensive background in the arts, project management and design is evident in my approach to UX.
